so we're moving this week... sort of. actually, we're only partially moving. because we're going to be living in someone else's house for a while, we're only going to be taking some of our stuff.
because we're limited in what we can take, we've found ourselves asking "what do we really need?". what are the things that we absolutely have to take with us? certainly there are the obvious things, like clothes. and a toothbrush. because let's be honest... nobody wants to be around stinky, naked jake.
since we've been asking ourselves this question... i thought i would try something that i've never done in my year and a half of blogging. i'm going to pose a question to you, and ask you to comment back. a lot of you stop by here every day but i never hear from you, so here's your chance.
if you were moving and could only take one thing with you (besides clothing and toiletry items), what would you take?
alright readers, comment away. like i said, i've never done this before so if nobody comments i'm gonna be really embarrassed. and it will be all your fault...
My own pillow!

Oh, wait! I think the "right" answer is supposed to be my Bible. :) I'd still want my own pillow. :)

woo-hoo, i got a comment! that's a good one, julie... your own pillow. i agree with that. the bible... eh. just kidding =)
alright guys, keep 'em coming!

In your case I would take two things = Christie & Logan
Posted by: Greg Cope | December 29, 2008 at 02:01 PM
Three things for you....
1. I agree with Greg. =)
2. I think I want to take my own sheets and towels.
3. JAKE...really? (LOL) I can't believe you subjected people to the mental image of "stinky naked Jake"!!!

i can't narrow it down to one thing, but the first things i thought of were my girls' toys and books. anything and everything that logan plays with daily that will make the transition easier for him. you know, it's not really about you and christie anymore! have a great move. looking forward to hearing more about your new home.

charlie - definitely. in my case, it's an ibook, but nonetheless it's coming with me.
greg - of course! i can't imagine being there without them!
kristi - i think we can arrange that. and you know you like... well, nevermind.
andrea - absolutely! i'm almost positive we're taking more stuff for him than we are for ourselves. not sure if it will all fit where we're going, but we're going to try!
wesley - that's funny, my clubs are one of the first things i set aside to take. that's a must.
alright... this is good... keep 'em coming!

Okay, as long as you're not becoming one of "those" guys who begs for comments...and you know what I mean...
If I were moving and could take one thing, I'd take a fork. I could use it to eat with. And I could use it as a weapon if I got into a fight. Oh, and I could comb my hair with it if I needed a comb.
Okay, seriously, assuming my wife and kids were with me, I'd take my wallet and my iPhone. I know they're two things, but I keep them together at night, so I'd only have to grab one thing.

casey... i gotta be honest dude, taking a fork never really crossed my mind. you make a great case for it, though. i should take a fork. iphone and wallet... good call.
and don't worry, i won't become a comment whore. i know some comment whores. nobody likes a comment whore.

whore.

fitz... are you calling me a whore? or are you saying that's the one thing you would take with you when you moved? hmm...
Posted by: Jake Miller | December 30, 2008 at 06:55 PM
i mean... thats a tough one.

I would take my TV which is connected to DVR which is connected to a DVD/VHS combo which is connected to the Wii. If we get to this new place it will become a priority to quickly buy furniture to sit on and sleep in...but what would we center our lives around if we didn't have the TV?

rob... i sort of forgot about taking the wii... good call. my list keeps growing. i'm not sure how all of this is going to work out...
